Why Olaplex?!
Why Olaplex?!!
It's a patented ingredient that actively restores broken bonds.
What do we mean by patented?
So here’s the scoop!: Olaplex has a "patent" ingredient! So other hair companies say there's does the same thing, it does not! Here's the scoop:
What is the patented ingredient in OLAPLEX?
Bis-Aminopropyl Diglycol Dimaleate
Bis-Aminopropyl Diglycol Dimaleate is Olaplex's patented ingredient. This technology works by finding single sulfur hydrogen bonds and cross-linking them back together to form disulfide bonds.
"Olaplex is repairing each hair strand as a whole (from base to ends)," says Robertson. "It's finding bonds that have been broken down by any means (hair color, chemical straighteners, blow dryers, etc.) and reconnecting them both ionically and covalently.
Olaplex vs Keratin:
Olaplex excels in repairing and strengthening damaged hair, making it ideal for those undergoing color transformations or with chemically treated hair. On the other hand, keratin treatments are perfect for managing frizz, taming curls, and achieving smooth, manageable hair.
Myths busted:
Is Too Much Olaplex bad for you?
You cannot over use Olaplex, so the more often you treat the hair, the healthier it will be. We know, the good news just keeps on coming. Use No. 3 at least twice a week until your hair begins to feel better.
Does Olaplex permanently repair hair?
While Olaplex does restore these broken disulphide bonds permanently, clients should be aware that new damage can still occur to the hair bonds. Over time, a multitude of factors can affect your hair strength and health, such as: How often you use heat styling products and whether you use a heat protecting treatment.
Is K18 the same as Olaplex?
Repair vs. Rebuild: K18 is about repairing and strengthening, providing resilience against future damage. Olaplex's approach is more about rebuilding and restoring the hair's internal structure. Combining the 2 together may even be more beneficial!
Personal note:
As a dedicated over processing of hair individual with bleach blonde hair for years, I can honestly say I have tried not using Olaplex however I cannot live without it. The integrity of my hair being compromised with dying is not worth it to me and I see and feel the difference that Olaplex clearly delivers!
much love
